1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Digital Detox Engine ("DDE," "the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use this service.

2. Description of Service

Digital Detox Engine is an AI-powered digital wellness platform that provides neuroscience-based coaching, education, and tools to help teens develop healthier screen habits. The Platform includes features such as the Dopamine Audit, AI Coach, Digital Reset Plans, education modules, progress tracking, and family collaboration tools.

3. Not a Medical Service

Digital Detox Engine is an AI-powered wellness tool — it is not a licensed medical device, therapy service, or crisis intervention tool. The AI Coach provides educational guidance based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles but is not a substitute for professional mental health care. For mental health emergencies, text or call 988.

4. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • Teen accounts (ages 13–17) require parental awareness through our family linking system.
  • You may not create accounts for others without their consent.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscription & Billing

DDE offers Free and Premium subscription tiers. Premium subscriptions are billed through Stripe.

  • Free Tier: Includes the Dopamine Audit, limited AI coaching (15 messages/day), 7-day Reset Plan, and 3 education modules.
  • Premium Tier: $9.99/month or $99/year. Includes unlimited AI coaching, extended Reset Plans, all education modules, parent dashboard, and family tools.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@digitaldetoxengine.com.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the AI Coach
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Platform
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, software, and the AI coaching system — are owned by Digital Detox Engine and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. AI-Generated Content

The AI Coach generates responses using large language models. While we design prompts to provide helpful, evidence-based guidance, AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Users should not rely solely on AI-generated content for health decisions.

9. Crisis Detection & Safety

The Platform includes automated crisis detection that surfaces the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline when concerning language is detected. This is a safety feature, not a clinical assessment. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 or text/call 988.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Detox Engine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
