Teens deserve tools that empower
Digital Detox Engine was born from a simple belief: the best way to help young people build a healthy relationship with technology is through understanding, not restriction.
Our Mission
Silicon Valley spent billions engineering apps to hijack adolescent attention. The average teen spends over 8 hours a day on screens, and 95% of teens are on social media — with those spending 3+ hours daily facing double the risk of depression and anxiety.
Existing solutions like Bark, Qustodio, and FamilyTime focus on monitoring and blocking. They treat symptoms, not causes. They create an adversarial dynamic between parents and teens. And they don't work long-term because they never teach young people why their brain craves the screen.
Digital Detox Engine takes a fundamentally different approach. We use AI to deliver personalized neuroscience education and CBT-based coaching that helps teens understand the dopamine mechanics behind their screen habits — and then empowers them to build new neural pathways through guided practice.
Coaching First
We teach the neuroscience of why phones are hard to put down — then help build personalized strategies for lasting change.
Privacy First
Teen coach conversations are private. Parents see aggregated progress and milestones, never surveillance data or message logs.
Empathy First
No shame, no guilt, no lectures. Relapse is part of recovery. One bad day does not erase a week of progress.
Science First
Every feature is grounded in peer-reviewed neuroscience, CBT principles, and validated screening instruments from leading universities.
